Welcome!
I am eager to bring my passion, tenacity, and creativity into the world. My interests include writing, running, travel, nature, and the arts.
Learn more:
From a young age, I hungered for knowledge. I devoured books about Greek & Egyptian mythology, the cosmos, and the Revolutionary & Civil War. Learning about the Civil War as a child sparked my lifelong pursuit for justice. In high school, I served as the managing editor for Vernon Hills High School's newspaper: The Scratching Post. Through this, I not only refined my skills for grammar and InDesign but I also discovered my passion for political reporting. I knew that I was destined to major in Political Science at the University of Michigan.

At UM, I joined the Roosevelt Network as a freshman. This student organization is a chapter of the Roosevelt Institute, a national policy think tank. I delved into human rights policy research and co-authored a policy: "Combating Discrimination and Reducing Jail Populations: Eliminating Bail for Low-Level Crimes." Researching the War on Drugs opened my eyes to the systemic issues plaguing the nation today, catalyzing my passion for advocacy in the criminal legal realm.
In 2019, I interned for the American Friends Service Committee in Ypsilanti, MI. My role involved managing correspondence between the organization and those incarcerated in the Michigan Department of Corrections. I responded to their needs via parole preparation packets, information on how to access healthcare, and more. Later that year, I was involved with Project Community, a Sociology course that empowers students to support those imprisoned at the Washtenaw County Jail. Each week, I met with female prisoners and facilitated an art workshop to process trauma. Being able to develop relationships and remind these women that people in the free world care for them was invaluable. During my final semester, I participated in the Sociology department's Inside Out Prison Exchange, a course that connects students with formerly incarcerated members of society. This enriched my understanding of the prison experience, enabling me to be a powerful voice for the incarcerated.

I seek to employ my knowledge of policy and advocacy to better the world. Beyond criminal legal advocacy, I'm keen to transform our response to the climate crisis, improve the United States' education and health systems, and expand access to the COVID-19 vaccine globally. Presently, I write petition letters and letters of recommendation on behalf of scientists to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services at Hudson-Talentopia. In doing so, I support the development of sustainable technologies, improvement of health outcomes, and advancement in computer science.
